The AI Program Manager is responsible for guiding AI projects from inception to completion. The role involves managing the overall strategy, coordinating teams, ensuring technical quality, and aligning the project with organizational goals to ensure that AI initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes. The AI program manager is a subset of the broader program manager role but specifically for AI initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and timelines.
Responsibilities:
Define AI project goals, set timelines, and outline deliverables. Create detailed plans and schedules, oversee progress, and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
Lead and oversee teams of data scientists, engineers, and designers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Manage resource allocation and provide necessary support for team members.
Serve as the main point of contact between stakeholders—executives, clients, and partners. Collect and prioritize requirements and expectations, providing regular updates and reports on project progress and results.
Ensure AI solutions are developed following best practices and organizational standards. Review technical specifications, oversee development, and address technical challenges during the project.
Identify potential risks and create mitigation strategies. Monitor and address issues affecting success, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, especially concerning data privacy and AI fairness.
Define KPIs for AI projects, assess outcomes against these goals, and implement continuous improvement processes based on performance data.
Stay informed about AI trends and advancements. Contribute to developing AI strategies and roadmaps, and identify opportunities to leverage AI for business value and innovation.
Maintain knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning, and data science principles. Understand AI frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
Proficiency in managing complex projects, including scope definition, timeline setting, and successful delivery. Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Scrum is often required.
Use performance data to drive continuous improvement and enhance project outcomes.
Develop and manage budgets, securing and allocating resources effectively, including technology and talent.
Lead and manage cross-functional teams, facilitating collaboration, providing support, and resolving conflicts.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, clients, and team members, presenting technical information clearly and understandably.
Possess ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, to succeed in this role.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in a relevant supervisory position. 2 years of GCC experience is a plus.
Accountability in project and team management.
Expertise in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning at Level 4.
Experience in building high-performing teams, processes, and systems.
Drive cost optimization initiatives.
Proficiency in Machine Learning algorithms at Level 4.
Knowledge of products and services at Level 4.
Strong program management skills at Level 4.
Experience in project planning and execution at Level 4.
