Job Summary:
In this role, you will be required to provide legal advice on legal and compliance matters, with a particular focus on competition law. You will prepare procedures and policies on a range of legal and compliance matters, including in the aviation sector. You will research and prepare contracting and negotiating strategies considering all legal and economic variables and indices to attain a superior informed negotiating position and consider creative solutions.
You will enter into negotiations to obtain the ideal cost for value outcomes.
Strategy, Tactics and Ethics
Develops the contracting and negotiating strategy considering all economic variables and indices to attain a superior informed negotiating position and considers creative solutions.
Identify opportunities to create a culture of high-level performance.
Identify, recommend, and develop new strategies for enhancing productivity targets.
Identify potential risks and threats to the projects and propose appropriate mitigation plans to higher management.
Work closely with clients across the company, becoming their trusted legal and business advisor. Understand, interpret, and apply competition law to the company’s current and future business model.
Operational
Evaluate and action events based on severity of impact on current and future business, reputational, and contractual obligations in full coordination with internal and external department stakeholders.
Directs identification, development, and implementation of the entire range of contract formation, negotiation, and administration policies and processes, with an emphasis on competition and anti-trust law (in particular in the EU) in accordance with corporate objectives.
Research information for preparing the contracting and negotiating strategy considering all economic variables and indices to attain a superior informed negotiating position and consider creative solutions.
Develop and implement suggestions for company policy and procedure revision and improvement.
Provide high-quality review, analysis, negotiation, and drafting of contracts.
Identify issues and determine when the escalation procedure should be started.
Communicate to key administrative officials the issue, facilitate, and help with the resolution in a timely manner.
Resolve any disputes that arise and identify areas for improvement in the company’s contracting processes.
Manage contract and legal disputes and settlements in liaison with Procurement, Finance, and Contracts/Legal Departments.
Participate in bid preparation, reviewing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, cost estimating, and bid price analysis, developing evaluation criteria.
Obtain the ideal cost for value outcomes of contracts and agreements.
Provide legal interpretations on Standard Terms and Conditions of Contracts.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role is required to have a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in aviation law. You would be a qualified lawyer with a relevant law degree. In order to be successful in this position, you would have previous experience in a reputable airline company. Experience in a multi-cultural environment in contracts and legal management is preferred.
You must have experience and a track record of successfully negotiating complex, high-profile contracts with specific reference to the aforementioned types. You would rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
