Job Purpose
Leads all activities related to the post-Gate 1 implementation and advancement of all Build-Own-Operate (BOO) and Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) bilateral projects that receive Board of Directors (BOD) approval. The role ensures these projects progress seamlessly through development, execution, financial closure, and handover while adhering to the approved project selection and evaluation framework and complying with the allocated budget.
Key Duties & Responsibility
- Assume full responsibility for executing and advancing all BOO/BOOT bilateral projects post-Gate 1 approval by the Board of Directors.
- Ensure a smooth transition from project approval to implementation, coordinating all necessary approvals, financial structuring, and risk assessments.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to secure off-taker clearances, finalize contracts, and mobilize resources for project execution.
- Identify and resolve any barriers or risks that could hinder the progress of approved BOO/BOOT projects.
- Oversee all aspects of the BOO/BOOT bilateral projects development, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance targets.
- Facilitate negotiations and execution of JV agreements, offtake agreements, risk-sharing and guarantee mechanisms, and project financing structures, ensuring alignment with corporate investment guidelines, optimizing financial returns, and mitigating potential risks.
- Ensure contractual frameworks and financial models optimize project returns and minimize risks.
- Serve as the primary liaison for industrial city developers, regulators, investors, and JV partners in advancing BOO/BOOT bilateral projects that receive Board of Directors (BOD) approval (post to Gate-1).
- Engage with off-takers, financial institutions, and private sector partners to ensure projects remain on track.
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate smooth project approvals and execution.
- Ensure all BOO/BOOT projects adhere to regulatory and legal requirements, internal corporate governance frameworks, and financial and investment risk assessments, ensuring compliance, minimizing risks, and aligning with the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications will be advantageous.
- MBA from an internationally recognized business school is preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in managing utility projects, with a strong focus on water, power, wastewater, and industrial utility sectors.
- Proven expertise in executing and structuring BOO/BOOT projects within non-regulated environments.
- Deep understanding of the Techno-Commercial, financial, and operational aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in negotiating JV agreements, securing project financing, and managing offtake arrangements.
