Role Overview
The role holder is responsible for inspecting, testing, commissioning, and performing final adjustments for elevators, escalators, moving walks, and other Otis equipment at assigned client sites. Duties should be carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Core Responsibilities
Complete safety checklist before startup and ensure all points are checked prior to job initiation.
Assess guide shoes/rollers, perform cleaning, lubrication, and testing of the over speed governor.
Check static balancing, correct overbalance in the counterweights, and adjust final limits.
Adjust and lubricate the Safety Action Mechanism, testing it per procedures.
Install door skates, adjust doors, set door locks, and inspect bolts and fasteners at every landing.
Inspect all rope clips, ropes, and cable anchorages, ensuring safety devices function correctly.
Perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top, inspecting interference and moving parts.
Check all electrical operations, including doors, buttons, and intercoms.
Report concerns to the Supervisor, including NCRs, infractions, and safety issues.
Set contact parameters in the controller, and adjust ride quality standards.
Test escalators and perform factory checklist inspections post-installation.
Prepare inspection reports, field test data, safety check reports, and safety audits.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in vertical transportation field operations.
At least 4 years in progressively responsible positions.
Fluent in written and spoken English;
Arabic preferred.
