Job Summary:
Blue Beach Tower by AZCO Real Estate is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist with a strong background in the hospitality industry to manage and process vendor payments efficiently. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Opera PMS and SunSystems, ensuring accurate recording, verification, and timely payment of invoices. This role is crucial in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring vendor relationships, and supporting the overall finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and compliance with company policies.
Utilize Opera PMS and SunSystems to record and track accounts payable transactions.
Match invoices with purchase orders (POs) and delivery receipts, resolving any discrepancies.
Prepare payment runs, ensuring timely payments while optimizing cash flow.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding payment issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable ledgers and related reports.
Assist in the month-end closing process, including accruals and expense reconciliations.
Work closely with the procurement and finance teams to ensure proper cost allocation.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT, and financial policies in hospitality accounting.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and payment concerns professionally.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounts payable operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in accounts payable within the hospitality industry.
Proficiency in Opera PMS and SunSystems is a must.
Strong understanding of hospitality financial operations, expense management, and vendor reconciliation.
Familiarity with local tax regulations, VAT, and financial compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience handling multi-property hotel accounts payable.
Knowledge of automated AP systems and hospitality procurement workflows.
Certification in finance or accounting (CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
