ACCOUNTING HEAD directs a company’s financial operations, manages the accounting team, and ensures all financial reports and transactions comply with laws and standards. They bridge daily bookkeeping with high-level business strategy.
Core Financial Operations
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial book closings.
- Ensure accurate, timely production of balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements.
- Oversee treasury and cash flow forecasting.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Enforce adherence to standard accounting frameworks like GAAP or IFRS.
- Build and monitor internal financial controls to reduce asset risk.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Oversee tax computation, filings, and regulatory reporting.
Budgeting and Strategy
- Build annual budgets alongside executive leadership.
- Track budget variances and recommend cost corrections.
- Offer financial advice to support executive decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff.
- Set performance goals and evaluate team productivity.
- Delegate daily tasks and streamline department workflows
