Role Description The Accountant Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai. This role oversees daily accounting operations, including reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and the accuracy of financial records. The Accountant Supervisor prepares and monitors financial statements, manages financial reporting cycles, and ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The role includes supervising accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting software and processes, and coordinating with internal departments and external auditors. The Accountant Supervisor also supports budgeting, variance analysis, and continuous improvement of financial controls to help drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and month-end/year-end closing.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and financial account reconciliations.
  • Monitor retail sales transactions, revenue recognition, and financial performance across multiple branches.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, stock valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Support manufacturing accounting activities, including factory costing and inventory control.
  • Conduct cost analysis, profitability analysis, and gross margin reporting.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure accurate procurement accounting and inventory transactions.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans while monitoring budget variances.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and IFRS standards.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Supervise accounting operations and provide guidance to junior accounting staff when required.
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage financial transactions and reporting efficiently.
  • Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience.
  • Mandatory experience in the retail industry.
  • Experience in manufacturing/factory accounting is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory accounting, stock control, purchasing accounting, and auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor is an advantage.
  • Driving license.
