Job Description:
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations by performing a variety of accounting tasks aimed at ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Your daily responsibilities will involve preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and processing payroll while adhering strictly to organizational policies. You will engage in thorough reconciliations of bank statements and ledgers and assist senior accountants in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
A key component of this position requires a detailed-oriented and analytical mindset to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial documents. You will also collaborate with various departments to provide insight into financial data, support audits, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of work experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting financial information to team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data accurately and provide insights for decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and income statements.
Assist in the management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
Conduct bank reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Support payroll processing, including employee time entry verification and compliance with tax regulations.
Compile financial reports and assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation during the audit processes.
Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends, providing recommendations for financial improvements.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and prepare documentation for internal and external reviews.
