Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team, with a focus on managing accounting for e-commerce platforms, social media sales, and retail partners. This individual will be responsible for posting relevant charges and expenses, verifying daily sales, reconciling books with customer accounts, posting collections/receipts, and evaluating marketing expenses. The ideal candidate should have experience in e-commerce accounting, social media sales, and retail partner management, as well as a strong understanding of accounting processes and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. E-Commerce Platform Accounting:
Sales Posting: Record daily e-commerce platform sales transactions (e.g., Amazon, Shopify, etc.) into the accounting system, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and proper account allocation.
Fee and Charge Posting: Post relevant fees and charges associated with e-commerce platforms (e.g., commission fees, shipping charges, and platform service charges) to ensure proper expense tracking.
Reconciliation of E-Commerce Sales: Reconcile sales data from e-commerce platforms with the accounting system and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
2. Social Media Sales Accounting:
Social Media Sales Posting: Manage and post sales transactions from social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, etc.) into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
Advertising Expense Posting: Post and reconcile social media advertising costs, ensuring that marketing expenses align with the planned budget.
3. Retail Partners Accounting:
Retail Partner Sales Tracking: Track sales made through retail partners, ensuring that these sales are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.
Retail Partner Fee Posting: Post any fees or charges from retail partners, such as commission or service fees, and ensure that they are accurately allocated in the accounting system.
4. Relevant Charges and Expenses Posting:
Expense Recording: Accurately post all relevant expenses, including commissions, advertising costs, platform fees, and other related charges for e-commerce, social media, and retail partner transactions.
Expense Allocation: Ensure that all expenses are allocated to the correct cost centers, accounts, and financial periods, maintaining consistency with company policies.
5. Daily Verification of Sales:
Sales Verification: Perform daily verification of sales transactions to ensure that all sales data from e-commerce platforms, social media, and retail partners are accurately recorded.
Discrepancy Resolution: Identify discrepancies in daily sales data and follow up with relevant teams or platforms to resolve any issues or errors.
6. Reconciliation of Books with Customers:
Customer Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts with the books to ensure that all outstanding balances are accurately recorded and that there are no discrepancies.
Follow-Up on Outstanding Receivables: Monitor customer balances, identify overdue payments, and follow up for collections in a timely manner.
7. Collection/Receipt Posting:
Receipt Recording: Post all customer collections and receipts into the accounting system, ensuring proper allocation to the appropriate customer accounts and outstanding invoices.
Cash Flow Management: Assist with monitoring cash flow by accurately recording receipts and tracking outstanding collections.
8. Marketing Expense Evaluation:
Marketing Expense Tracking: Evaluate and track marketing expenses, including social media advertising, promotional costs, and other marketing-related activities.
Budget Comparison: Compare actual marketing expenses against the budget to ensure adherence to marketing cost controls.
Reporting on Marketing ROI: Provide reports and insights to management regarding the return on investment (ROI) for marketing expenses.
9. Ad-hoc Duties:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as required.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reconciliation records.
Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements and streamline accounting operations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of [X] years of experience in accounting, with a focus on e-commerce platforms, retail partner relationships, and social media sales accounting.
E-commerce & Social Media Experience: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, Shopify) and social media sales channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and their accounting processes.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and cost management for e-commerce and retail partners.
Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and other functions for reporting and data analysis.
Strong attention to detail, with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
