Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mid-Level Accountant to join our joinery manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily accounting operations, monitoring production-related costs, and supporting financial reporting and compliance requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills, manufacturing accounting knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the ERP/accounting system.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and month-end closing entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Cost & Manufacturing Accounting
- Track and analyze production costs, including raw materials, labor, overheads, and subcontracting expenses.
- Monitor inventory movements and ensure accurate recording of stock transactions.
- Perform inventory reconciliations and participate in periodic stock counts.
- Assist in preparing job costing reports for joinery projects and production orders.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted manufacturing costs and provide recommendations.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Prepare regular financial and management reports for senior management.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor departmental expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate profitability and project performance reports.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulations.
- Assist with external and internal audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
- Support VAT and other statutory filings as required.
General Support
- Coordinate with procurement, production, stores, and project teams to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, joinery, furniture, woodworking, or construction industries.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
