Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for Independently managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial data, facilitate audits, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles and systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and journal entries to maintain precise financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support payroll management through systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring timely processing and compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and data entry tasks to support organizational planning and reporting efforts.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist with internal audits when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including journal entries and account analysis for transparency and audit readiness.
- Contribute to governmental accounting activities if applicable, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Experience
- Proven accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with financial software integrations such as Workday or Ceridian enhances efficiency in managing complex data sets.
- Strong numeracy skills coupled with advanced Excel data analysis capabilities for detailed reporting and analysis tasks.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as data entry, account analysis, budgeting support, and tax preparation efficiently.
- Previous experience in non-profit or governmental accounting environments is advantageous but not required.
