Accountant Jobs in Doha at COZMALABS

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to manage core financial operations including bank reconciliations, petty cash and corporate credit card management, accounts receivable and accounts payable, fixed asset management, and payroll/salary review, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The ideal candidate has solid accounting fundamentals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Bank Reconciliation

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and general ledger
  • Monitor cash flow and flag unusual transactions
  • Ensure cash and cash equivalents are classified and disclosed correctly in line with IFRS

Petty Cash Management

  • Maintain and control petty cash fund, ensuring proper documentation for disbursements
  • Reconcile petty cash balances regularly and replenish as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company spending policies and approval limits

Credit Card Management

  • Monitor and reconcile corporate credit card statements against receipts and expense reports
  • Ensure timely collection of supporting documentation for all card transactions
  • Review cardholder spending for compliance with company policy and approval limits
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, disputed charges, or unauthorized transactions
  • Ensure credit card liabilities are accurately recorded and reconciled to the general ledger
  • Coordinate with cardholders and management on expense reporting deadlines

Accounts Receivable (A/R)

  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely invoicing and collections
  • Reconcile A/R subledger to the general ledger on a regular basis
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate with sales/customers on outstanding balances
  • Review and maintain the aging report, flagging doubtful or delinquent accounts
  • Ensure provisions for expected credit losses are recorded in line with IFRS

Accounts Payable (A/P)

  • Reconcile A/P subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage payment runs and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items
  • Maintain the aging report and ensure accruals for unbilled/unpaid liabilities are recorded correctly

Fixed Asset Register

  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and transfers, in accordance with IFRS
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation based on appropriate useful life, residual value, and depreciation method
  • Assess assets for indicators of impairment and escalate where necessary
  • Conduct periodic physical verification of assets and reconcile with the register
  • Maintain supporting documentation for capitalization vs. expense decisions

Salaries Revision

  • Review monthly payroll calculations for accuracy (salaries, deductions, benefits, overtime)
  • Coordinate with HR to verify employee changes (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments)
  • Ensure statutory deductions and contributions are correctly applied and reported
  • Ensure employee benefit accruals (leave, bonuses, end-of-service benefits) are recognized correctly in line with IFRS

General

  • Ensure all transactions comply with internal controls, company policy, and IFRS requirements
  • Support external/internal audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Stay current with updates to IFRS standards relevant to the role
  • Assist with other ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an IFRS reporting environment
  • Part-qualified or working toward a professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and its practical application
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)

Pay: QAR2,453.21 – QAR6,801.90 per month
